Experience
In 2003, the non-profit civil association Laboratorio de Ideas Cooperativas (Cooperative Ideas Laboratory) created EDAD.TECH as an action-research project within the field of Information and Communication Technologies for Human Development (ICT4D), seeking to address a specific problem: the exclusion of older adults in the digital society.
As social life became increasingly digitalized, new problems emerged: such as information overload, cybersecurity, planned obsolescence and digital well-being. The project changed its focus to the meaningful adoption and use of expanding technologies, now addressing more than just socio-digital inclusion.
Currently, as a Living Lab, we conduct itinerant open innovation processes aimed at improving the digital experience of all types of users. These processes involve co-creating inclusive solutions from a multi-sectoral approach that integrate scientific-academic, business and civil society perspectives.
Throughout our history, we have received sponsorships, awards, grants, mentions and signed agreements that have allowed us to expand our work.

Highlights of our experience
2025
We participated in the international event #AgeTech2025, sharing our experience testing an AI model with older adults from low-income communities. We signed an agreement with the National University of José C. Paz the co-creation of a gamified educational resource. We created our Intergenerational Digital School: EDI is a 4i platform (intergenerational, intercultural, inclusive, and innovative) developed with AI.
2024
We developed technology workshops for older residents of Villa 21-24 in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. This action-research activity included a volunteer program in collaboration with the organization +MujeresUX and the career of sociology of the University of Buenos Aires.
2023
We expanded our pedagogical experience by adding an interactive and immersive platform to achieve well-being. Edad.tech functions as a mobile lab for the co-creation and testing of products and services for older adults. It establishes transnational strategic alliances, contributing knowledge and networking with sister projects.
2022
We won a grant from the Ministry of Science and Technology to carry out the «Federal Experiences» project: workshops for the meaningful adoption and use of ICTs with older adults. We shared the tools with organizations in different regions of the country interested in generating socio-digital inclusion initiatives and sharing federal experiences on the generational gap in technology use.
2021
We developed the EDAD educational platform on Moodle.
2020
We designed a responsive app associated with a resource platform to clearly and systematically assist and inform older adults isolated during the pandemic. Based on a process of active listening with these adults, we co-created an information architecture adapted to their interests and needs at that time. https://desdecasa.edad.tech
2019
We received grants to create accessible and usable educational resources.
2018
We received support from the Supervielle Bank under a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to create customized educational resources in the form of high-definition TV spots.
2016-2018
We established partnerships with senior centers to offer our technology workshops.
2012
We gained academic status by actively participating in congresses, forums, conferences, journalistic publications, and scientific dissemination journals at national and international levels.
